Nelson Mandela Day

14.7.2019

Blessings to those who wish to serve the marginalized people of the community!

As you may know, in July STC attempts to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela who was born on the 18th July. To support his legacy we want to contribute to the World Wide Nelson Mandela International Day of Service. STC wants to support this international event for an entire week from today to Sunday 21 July. We would like to suggest that sometime during this week you all look around your neighbourhood, community, friends, your street; And find some project to serve others. If you would like to participate, and agree to try to find a project to help someone, we have a non-binding signup on our website to encourage your support. If your project could use some help, mention your needs in the comment section, and we will share it with the STC community. https://www.servethecitygeneva.ch/current-activities/

If you mange to complete a service project of interest, feel free to mention a bit about it on our facebook page.

WHAT IS MANDELA DAY?

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela

Mandela Day calls on us all, every day, to make the world a better place. Each year on 18 July we look back on what has been done, and forward to what will be done.

Making every day a Mandela Day celebrates Madiba’s life and legacy in a sustainable way that will bring about enduring change.

There is so much to learn about this very special man and what he stands for: Here is a slight insight. Nelson Mandela info
